Who is Prof. Dr. Mustafa U. Kalaycı ?
Was born in 1968 in Konya graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 1992, and completed his general surgery residency at Ankara Oncology Hospital in 1998. In 2012, he earned the title of Associate Professor and served as chief assistant and administrative supervisor in the General Surgery Clinic at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital. Since 2017, he has been a faculty member in the General Surgery Clinic at the University of Health Sciences.
With over 8,000 successful obesity surgeries, Dr. Mustafa is highly experienced in a range of bariatric procedures, including gastric sleeve surgery, gastric bypass, gastric balloon applications, and revision gastric sleeve surgery.
He frequently teaches courses on obesity surgery at universities across Istanbul, sharing his expertise with new generations of surgeons. His practice emphasizes advanced laparoscopic techniques, interventional and therapeutic endoscopy, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Mustafa has pursued extensive training and certifications both in Turkey and abroad, with specialized education in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, cytoreductive surgery, and hyperthermic chemotherapy in France and Germany. His main areas of expertise include obesity surgery, gastric cancer surgery, and emergency-trauma surgery. He has published over 40 international and more than 30 local articles, and he frequently shares his knowledge through scientific presentations and publications.
